About Acacia Field Consulting
Registered hospitality consultants based in Brisbane since 2014, working with independent venues across Queensland and Australia.
Acacia Field Consulting is the registered business name of our hospitality performance practice. We were established in 2014 in Brisbane by Helen Acacia, who spent twelve years as a restaurant general manager and area supervisor before moving into consulting full time.
How we started
Helen opened the practice after repeatedly being asked by owner friends to “just come look at our numbers for a weekend.” What began as informal favour turned into structured engagements covering roster design, food costing, and service standards. By 2016 we had added a part-time associate consultant and formalised our reporting templates. Today we work with roughly thirty venues per year across Queensland, with occasional projects in northern New South Wales and Victoria.
What we believe
Hospitality businesses succeed when three things align: a menu guests want to return for, a team that can deliver it consistently, and costs that leave room for reinvestment. We do not sell software subscriptions or franchise packages. Every recommendation is written for your specific floor plan, supplier list, and service style.
Our team
Helen Acacia — Principal Consultant. Former GM at two Brisbane dining groups. Leads performance reviews and owner coaching.
Daniel Reeves — Associate Consultant. Ex-head chef with fifteen years in commercial kitchens. Leads menu costing sessions and kitchen workflow assessments.
Maya Okonkwo — Operations Analyst. Prepares cost reports, roster models, and benchmark comparisons. Works remotely with fortnightly on-site visits during active engagements.
Working with us
We prefer long relationships over one-off audits. Many clients begin with a Hospitality Performance Review and return quarterly for roster or menu tune-ups. We are direct about what we see — including when a problem is cultural rather than procedural — and we stay until your managers can run the new routines without us in the room.
We are based at Office 9, 42 Example Road, Brisbane QLD 00000, and conduct most on-site work across South East Queensland with travel available by arrangement.
